

I just finished up the eggnog - now itapos;s snug in the fridge to age until Christmas.
Hereapos;s my final recipe:
24 large egg yolks
2 cups whipping cream
8 cups whole organic milk
2 whole ground nutmegs
1/8 tsp kosher salt
5 cups W.L. Weller 12 year old Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey (90 proof)
4 cups (1 bottle plus a bit) Railean Reserve XO Texas Gulf Coast Rum (80 proof)
1 bottle (about 1 1/2 cups) Pierre Ferrand Reserve Cognac (80 proof)
Whisk the eggs and sugar, add the cream and spices, then slowly pour in the alcohol while whisking (you donapos;t want to curdle the eggs), then the milk.
This yields 2 gallon milk jugs filled to about 2 inches from the top.
Estimated proofage ~ 34
I gave the raw product a little taste. It was delicious. And almost knocked me on my ass.
Next stop - yard work. Time to go operate some heavy machinery.
